Yes, God will deliver His children. But you might not know how. In Peter’s Second Epistle, verses 9 and 10, he teaches that God knows how, and when, the Lord will deliver us.
2nd Peter 2:9Only God knows what trials lie ahead in each of our lives today, tomorrow, and in the days to come. The only thing we know for sure is that as long as we are in this world, trials will come. We will face trials and Jesus promised us this.
Many times, we do not know how we can be delivered out of temptation, but the Lord knows how. This is a good principle for both life and doctrine.
The unjust have a have reservation made for them: they are reserved for the day of judgement. But believers have no such reservation. God will deliver us from the very day of judgment, from the very time of wrath that He pours out on the earth (Revelation 3:10).
Peter said, in Acts 12, he had been strangely delivered. God wonderfully delivered Peter from prison and He painfully delivered Herod to judgment. God knows how to do both. Way back then the punishment and delivery has already begun. And the Lord knows how to go on even now punishing the ungodly.
The danger for these ungodly is not for their own souls but the souls of others. They entice unsteady souls. They are seeking out the weak in the faith and trying to sweep them away to follow their own teachings. To show how these false teachers act like irrational animals, Peter brings up the example of Balaam.
These ungodly ones are especially reserved for judgment. They live according to the flesh, not the spirit, and are marked by uncleanness.

2 Peter 2:9, 10 – then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. (NASB)
